Meet Connie & Shane Clipfell, owners of the Big Red Barn. The Clipfells have been busy turning their barn (that sits mostly empty in the summer months) into an exciting new Event Venue. Shane is the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at WMU and Connie is their biggest fan. Connie’s work history is in Project Management and Event/Party Coordination, so when she saw this BIG empty space, she said “WOW just think of the awesome Events and Parties we could host here!”
What’s Unique About The Big Red Barn?
Connie comes from a large family of nine children, with eight girls and one boy – so, when her daughter married they had A LOT of family coming in from near and far. They designed a weekend where guests could spend as little or as much time with the group as they desired.
- Friday, they decorated and brought in food for the rehearsal dinner and then sat around the campfire – catching up and telling stories.
- Saturday, they added the finishing touches to the venue and enjoyed the wedding.
- Sunday, a continental breakfast was provided, the bride and groom opened presents, and other guests visited and helped with the cleanup.
It was an amazing weekend where they got to spend so much MORE time with friends & family! That’s why they feel it’s important to offer a venue that can be used for the whole weekend, and they are excited to provide that option for your event.
